Alberta government releases draft caribou range plan

The government has released a made-in-Alberta draft plan to help woodland caribou populations across the province recover. The Alberta government encourages all interested parties to submit feedback online and participate in public information sessions held in communities throughout caribou ranges.


Extensive fire at Kenora sawmill destroys two kilns

The last few days of 2017 brought along some financial damage for Kenora Forest Products. Fire crews battled a blaze at the sawmill, located in Kenora, Ont., on the evening of Dec. 29 leading into the following morning.


Resolute acquires full ownership of Donohue Malbaie

Resolute Forest Products Inc. has announced the closing of a transaction to acquire the 49 per cent equity interest held by The New York Times Company in Donohue Malbaie Inc. for a cash purchase price in the amount of C$20 million. Resolute reported it already owned 51 per cent of the shares of Donohue Malbaie.
