Norbord reports adjusted EBITDA of $724M in 2018

“Despite a disappointing fourth quarter, we delivered our best-ever adjusted EBITDA of $724 million as North American OSB prices remained strong for much of the year and we shipped more product to meet increased demand,” said Peter Wijnbergen, Norbord’s president and CEO.


WFP completes acquisition of Columbia Vista

Feds invest $4.5M toward Louisiana-Pacific’s Dawson Creek mill

The $4.5 million will go towards everything from engineering and design work to procurement, construction and start-up of the mill. Once finished, the upgraded sawmill is expected to produce 300 million square feet of SmartSide Lap Siding.


Resolute reports drop in operating income in Q4 2018

Resolute has reported an operating income of $75 million for Q4, 2018, compared to $135 million in Q3 2018. Overall pricing had an unfavourable impact of $33 million because of the $110 per thousand board feet drop in the average transaction price for wood products.


FPInnovations, TTI to collaborate on transportation research

Areas of possible collaboration include: emissions and fuel consumption reduction, freight performance measurement and fleet efficiency, road safety, low-volume roads and infrastructure, data analysis, as well as developing and testing electric, automated, and autonomous vehicle technologies.
