‘Word is getting out’: BC sawfilers’ conference grows

B.C. is in the name, and B.C. is where they meet, but the BC Saw Filers Association’s annual conference in late April has become much more than a meeting of sawfilers in just one province. CFI has a sneak peek of what this year’s conference holds.


Kalesnikoff Lumber investing $35M in mass timber facility

“We see mass timber as a natural and exciting innovation and next step for our company and team,” said Chris Kalesnikoff, Kalesnikoff’s COO. The announcement comes in the wake of a change to the B.C. Building Code allowing wood buildings up to 12 storeys.


Canadian Wood Council commends change to B.C. Building Code

The “announcement marks the collective technical, research and code efforts from a consortium of industry partners that have worked together to demonstrate that tall wood is a safe, sophisticated and low-carbon building solution,” said Rick Jeffery, Interim President of the CWC.
