Global trade of softwood lumber increased in Q1 2019: WRQ

Global trade of softwood lumber reached 120 million m3 in 2018, the second highest level on record, reports Wood Resources Quarterly. But softwood lumber exports from Canada were down six per cent year-over-year in 2018, with the biggest decline being in shipments to China.

China’s imports of US forest products down in early 2019

The biggest declines in import value of U.S. forest products from the 1Q/18 to the 1Q/19 have been those of wood pulp and hardwood logs, falling $220 million and $110 million, respectively.
