BC government commits $3.3M to forestry training

Students in Cranbrook, Kamloops and Nanaimo, B.C., will receive training from Stillwater Consulting. The students will be able to earn 11 certifications, including basic chainsaw operator, silviculture surveyor certification and occupational first aid.


Stella-Jones’ Brian McManus to step down as president and CEO

Brian McManus has decided to step down as President and CEO of Stella-Jones, effective Oct. 11, 2019. Eric Vachon, Senior Vice-President and CFO, will serve as interim CEO.


FPAC welcomes economic commitments from Canada’s Premiers

“We appreciate the Premiers’ call to the federal government to support forestry workers, families, and communities impacted by shift reductions or mill closures,” said FPAC President and CEO Derek Nighbor.
