Resolute reports $25M net income in Q2 2019

Resolute Forest Products last week reported a net income of $25 million for Q2 2019, compared to $72 million in the same period in 2018. Sales were $755 million in the quarter, a decrease of $221 million from the year-ago period.


Sinclar Group to temporarily curtail three BC sawmills

The company announced last week that it will be temporarily curtailing Lakeland Mills in Prince George, Nechako Lumber in Vanderhoof and Apollo Forest Products in Fort St. James, B.C., due to high log costs and challenging market conditions.


Six weeks of downtime announced at Tolko’s Kelowna mill

“Although we prefer to keep our locations in constant operation, we must manage the business responsibly and ensure we are sustainable for the future,” said Vice-President of solid wood, Troy Connolly, about the curtailment.
