COFI releases plan for competitive forest industry

The B.C. Council of Forest Industries (COFI) recently released a plan – “SmartFuture: A Path Forward for B.C.’s Forest Products Industry” – with 60 policy choices that can be made today to secure a stronger future for B.C.’s forest sector.


Softwood lumber trade up 5% in first half of 2019: WRQ

Demand for lumber in China, the United Kingdom, Egypt and the Netherlands increased this year despite a slowdown in the global economy, reports the Wood Resource Quarterly.


Tolko curtails Kelowna mill for ‘indeterminate period’

“This decision was not easy for us to make,” said Vice-President of Solid Wood Troy Connolly. “We are very disappointed to be in a position where we have to curtail the mill, particularly given the reasons for this extension are beyond our control.”
