US Department of Commerce seeks to double softwood lumber duty

The U.S. DoC concluded that Canadian imports are “heavily subsidized and dumped into the U.S. market by issuing a combined anti-subsidy and anti-dumping rate of 18.32 per cent.”

BC Lumber Trade Council: US Department of Commerce preliminary rate decision ‘egregious’

The proposed increase in rates is “particularly egregious given lumber prices are at a record high and demand is skyrocketing in the U.S. as families across the country look to repair, remodel and build new homes,” said Susan Yurkovich, president of the BC Lumber Trade Council.
