Feds invest $1.7M in FPInnovations to develop hybrid forestry trucks

The funds will help FPInnovations retrofit two conventional forestry tractor-trailers into hybrid tractor-trailers, by equipping the two trailers with electric drive axels that will help the diesel-powered trucks.


Canfor reports record operating income in Q2 2021

Canfor reported a record quarterly reported operating income of $1.04 billion driven by unprecedented high lumber prices and a strong operating performance across all regions, and record-high quarterly sales of $2.5 billion.


Resolute reports $268M net income in Q2 2021

Resolute Forest Products’ ] wood products segment generated operating income of $405 million in the quarter, an increase of $184 million from the previous quarter.


West Fraser Q2 2021 sales up 61% over Q1

West Fraser’s lumber segment generated operating earnings in the quarter of $955 million and Adjusted EBITDA of $994 million. Adjusted EBITDA increased due to higher lumber prices and higher shipment volumes that recovered from the seasonal railcar shortages in Canada and a period of extreme winter conditions in the U.S. South in the previous quarter.
