BC approves forest tenure sale to Peak Fort Nelson Properties

Peak Fort Nelson Properties (Peak Renewables) will now have a Replaceable Forest License that has an annual allowable cut of 553,716 cubic metres.


Ontario issues forest license to Indigenous-industry partnership

Ogwiidachiwaning Sustainable Forest Management Inc. (OSFMI) will receive a Sustainable Forest License, which provides a license holder with rights to harvest and use wood, along with responsibilities for forest management and forest management planning.


BC concludes forestry retirement program

B.C.’s Bridging to Retirement Program, a program that helped more than 1,000 forestry workers transition to retirement in the wake of the 2019 industry downturn, is ending. The provincial government will continue the job placement program through an online platform and three offices in the B.C. Interior to help forestry workers.


John Deere, Hitachi to end joint venture agreements

John Deere and Hitachi will enter into new license and supply agreements, which will enable John Deere to continue to source, manufacture, and distribute the current lineup of Deere-branded excavators in the Americas.
