ILA calls for halt to BC’s ‘unbalanced approach’ to forest policy

In response to B.C.’s planned deferral of 2.6 million hectares of old-growth logging, “The ILA formally requests that Premier Horgan and all of his members of cabinet halt this unbalanced approach to forest policy.”


Stella-Jones acquiring Alabama’s Cahaba Pressure and Cahaba Timber

The Quebec-based producer will shell out approximately US$66 million for Cahaba Pressure Treated Forest Products and US$36.5 million for Cahaba Timber. The two companies represent the largest wood pole production site in the U.S.


Alberta renews Tolko’s 272K-hectare, 20-year FMA

The forest management area renewal will lead to $3.6 million in holding and protection charge payments, $29.7 million in timber dues and contribute more than $864 million to Alberta’s GDP.
