Cree Lumber brings sawmill back to Quebec

The Cree Nation of Waswanipi, Mishtuk Corporation and Chantiers Chibougamau announced the opening of the Cree Lumber sawmill November 24.


Canfor permanently closes pulp line at Prince George facility

Line at the Prince George Pulp and Paper Mill will be phased out by the end of March.


Interfor curtails production for Q1 on lower demand

Interfor will reduce lumber production by at least 100 million board feet, or 8.0 per cent of capacity in Q1, citing economic conditions and market uncertainty.


West Fraser to indefinitely curtail Florida sawmill, cites high costs, weak markets

The indefinite curtailment of Perry Sawmill will impact approximately 126 employees and will reduce West Fraser’s U.S. lumber production by 100 million board feet.
