West Fraser sales drop 16% in Q3

West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. is reporting a more than US$250 million decline in sales quarter-over-quarter. West Fraser reports in its new Q3 results sales were $1.437 billion, compared to $1.705 billion in the second quarter of 2024 — a $268 million, or 16 per cent drop.


Canfor reports $350M net loss in Q3

Canfor Corp. is reporting a net loss for the third quarter in a row. In its new Q3 results for 2024, Canfor reports a net loss of $350 million, following a $191 million for the second quarter.


Paper Excellence Group rebrands as Domtar

Paper Excellence Group will now be known as Domtar, as the company rebrands following the acquisition of Domtar Corp. and Resolute Forest Products.
