Managing burnt lumber dust in sawmills: Debarking and contaminant challenges

Burnt lumber typically enters a sawmill after forest fires, controlled burns or heat-damaged storage. While the core wood might still be structurally usable, the outer layers are often charred, brittle and contaminated with ash, soot and other particulates.
