The province has invited stakeholders, experts, Indigenous partners and government representatives from throughout the country to a wildfire symposium in Vancouver on Dec. 5, 2025.

Building wildfire resilience through education and community action

The Osoyoos Indian Band is taking proactive steps to better protect its community and lands from wildfire through the OIB FireSmart Program, led by Nk’Mip Forestry in collaboration with the First Nations Emergency Services Society.
