Power Engineering 4th Class is an Alberta certification by which the operation and maintenance of boilers and associated equipment in heating plants and other industrial settings are governed. Individuals must complete the Part A and Part B courses in order to be eligible to write the corresponding Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) certification exams. Note that there is also a firing time requirement for 4th Class Power Engineer certification, which may be accomplished either at an approved power/steam facility or through attending an approved Power Lab.
