RCMP requests prosecutors to consider charges in Kelowna crane collapse case

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have submitted a report to the BC Prosecution Service regarding the case of the July 2021 Kelowna crane collapse, recommending a charge assessment of criminal negligence causing death.


Alberta increases allowable on-road weight limits for all-terrain cranes

Alberta’s Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors, Devin Dreshin, announced the approval of a permanent increase in the allowable weights of all-terrain cranes on the province's roads following the All-Terrain Crane Pilot Project.


One person killed in Vancouver tower crane incident

One person is dead after a tower crane reportedly dropped its load onto a building under construction. The incident took place Feb. 21 at the Oakridge Park development in Vancouver. WorkSafeBC states it was notified at around 3 p.m. on Feb. 21 of a serious incident involving a crane near Cambie and 41st in Vancouver at the Oakridge worksite.


Tadano’s new all-terrain model makes Canadian debut with Sterling Crane

Sterling Crane has received the first Canadian delivery of Tadano’s AC 7.450-1 all-terrain crane, with the machine set make its debut in carrying out refinery work in Western Canada. The AC 7.450-1 is a 500-ton, 7-axle machine with a 262.5-foot main boom and compact length of under 60 feet.
