The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) has announced 2025’s Global Lifting Awareness Day (GLAD) for June 12, 2025, with the day set to be themed around “Lifting Careers, Building Futures.”


EllisDon wins TCA award for crane climbing solution

The EllisDon Corporation took home the Innovation Award as part of the Toronto Construction Association’s “Best of the Best” program for its crane climbing solution at the 141 Bay project.


New chairperson named for Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority

The federal government has officially named Marie Campagna as chair of the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority’s (WDBA) board of directors. Having been a member of the WDBA board since 2017, Campagna has held the title of interim chair since May of 2024.


Fassi to use fossil free steel in production of truck mounted cranes

Italian crane manufacturer Fassi has entered a partnership that will see Swedish steel producer SSAB provide fossil free steel to be used in Fassi’s line of truck mounted cranes. Fassi will use SSAB’s ‘Zero’ and ‘Fossil free’ steel to develop a new range of cranes featuring reduced CO2 emissions.


DICA makes key leadership appointments

DICA, a provider of engineered outrigger and crane pads, has appointed Matt Sargent as its new Chief Financial Officer, with John "Pinky" Jansen also joining DICA as its new director of marketing.
