This year, cyberattacks continued to plague business leaders, with major breaches occurring due to known vulnerabilities. Trend Micro Inc. predicts the trend of known vulnerabilities being used in major attacks will continue in 2018 as corporate attack surfaces expand and expose more security holes. Patch management and employee education should be prioritized for all executives to protect an organization's most critical data.

In just a few short years, the connected world will experience explosive growth in bandwidth demand, an evolution in wireless technology, and a threefold increase in the amount of power transmitted through IP networks.
Unless your infrastructure is designed with advanced technology that will hold up to future demands, you could start experiencing network slowdowns sooner than you think.
There is a solution: Berk-Tek, the industry leader in network cabling infrastructure, is now Nexans Cabling Solutions in Canada.

Platinum Tools recently launched the ToneMaster High Powered Tone Generator (p/n TG210C / TG220C), and the ToneSeeker Tone Tracer Probe (p/n TP250C). Both are now shipping. Professional Tone and Probe kits combining both the ToneMaster and ToneSeeker (p/n TG210K1 / TG220K1) are also now available.
The ToneMaster enables signal detection over long distances, making tracing through walls and enclosures easier with multiple tones and power levels suited for network, signal wire, coax, and telephone cable applications.
Meanwhile, the ToneSeeker Tone Tracer is an ergonomic, high-sensitivity probe for field service professionals. Used in conjunction with any analog tone generator, it identifies wire and cable without having to make direct metallic contact with the conductor. Combing the ToneMaster and ToneSeeker make the life of the tech much easier, saving time and, ultimately, the company’s bottom line.”
The ToneMaster’s four tone amplitude levels include normal and half, high-powered normal and half, with the half amplitude unbalanced for stronger signal effect on twisted pairs.

Tektronix, Inc. has announced the 5 Series MSO Low Profile oscilloscope for machine diagnostics and automated test (ATE) applications that the company says allows researchers and scientists to gather more accurate data and gain deeper insights into their machines while reducing test.
Rack-mounted oscilloscopes are commonly used to evaluate the performance of various "machines" in such application areas as high energy physics (pulsed power), military and government for weapons testing and materials research. Software is typically used to control the instrument remotely. According to Tektronix, as with ATE applications, engineers and researchers often struggle to put together cost-effective data acquisition solutions with enough performance and channels to better monitor their experiments and overcome space constraints.
“The 5 Series MSO contains 8 analog channels or up to 64 digital channels in a fraction of the space of traditional benchtop scopes truly stands out and delivers significant benefits for machine diagnostics and similar research and production test applications," said Brian Ice, the firm’s general manager, mainstream oscilloscopes, Tektronix.
