The recently released 800 x 600 resolution Fluke DS701 Diagnostic Videoscope and 1200 x 720 resolution Fluke DS703 FC High Resolution Videoscope are built for industrial maintenance troubleshooting and quality assurance testing and, according to the company, designed to stand up to challenges of a rugged environment.
Each videoscope features:
• High definition probes with dual-view cameras, allowing the videoscope to take images and video either forward or to the side to capture the images in difficult or hard to reach locations
• 7-inch LCD screen for easy viewing
• IP68 rated probe (imager) for protection against dust and water projected from a nozzle
• The ability to withstand a 2-meter drop.
They can also be used in an assortment of industrial applications such as production (e.g. inspection of bearing surfaces and lubrication; gear helix inspection), aircraft maintenance (e.g. blade inspection; engine hot section contamination), automotive quality assurance (e.g. testing of casting goods; inspection for cracks, chips, and contamination in HP chambers), and heavy-duty maintenance (e.g. inspection of clogged pipelines; corrosion in rotors and stators).
The videoscopes include an EVA foam protective case, hand strap, neck strap (DS703 only), HDMI and USB cables, and TPAK magnet hanging strap.

To construct flexible and cost-effective IP video surveillance systems, integrators often take advantage of Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches, especially in outdoor locations.
The challenge, according to Moxa, lies in ensuring that PoE switches can provide high power output and sufficient network bandwidth while remaining highly available and reliable, even when operating in conditions of extreme temperatures, harsh environments, high environmental noise, and potential cybersecurity risks.
To meet this challenge, the company recently launched its EDS-P506E-4PoE series of four-port PoE switches in which each port delivers up to 60W to power IP cameras employing energy-draining functions such as PTZ, illumination, heaters, wipers and fans.
The switches also come with the company’s Smart PoE software, which facilitates Web accessible PD diagnostics and management and helps end-users achieve automatic PD detection of power class, status, and errors for diagnostics, while checking for device failure.
In the event of camera failure, freeze or lag, the EDS-P506E-4PoE automatically reboots the camera. The result is increased operational efficiency and significantly reduced effort required by maintenance staff.
To ensure maximum uptime for data and power transfer in harsh conditions, the EDS-P506E-4PoE supports millisecond-level failover redundancy, along with dual power inputs, and -40° to 75°C (-40 F to 167° F) wide operating temperature range to ensure constant and robust connections.
