Giving Back

Holiday Cheer!

Sexton Group donates to a wide range of charities throughout the year. With many families in need at this special time of year, our office divides into two groups and takes on the challenge of shopping for toys and food.

This year, we have happily donated two vehicles full of much-needed food including baby food and baby supplies, and another vehicle full of toys and games for children of all ages.

Both groups took their vehicles full of items to the Christmas Cheer Board; we were all greeted with kindness, and smiles by volunteers. The best part is, we helped spread the holiday cheer to others within our community.

Matt from Timber Spirit in Spiritwood, SK, would like to thank Sharalee Laventure from the Husqvarna Group. Matt would like to praise Sharalee for all of her hard work and the great business relationship that has fostered between the two.

I have asked our office staff to jot down a few words about themselves to make you a little more familiar with the crew we have. Here, in no particular order, is our sales staff.

Staff

Garth- " I have been in the industry the last 40 years, from managing a building supply company, to selling windows, building houses, and I even had a renovation company. Here at Golden Spike we have a fun attitude and enjoy helping our customers. Our service is some of the best in the industry so please come in and say hi".

Nathan- "I first worked in the yard here for over a year and then moved into the office nearly two years ago. I like long walks on the beach, singing in the rain, and selling lumber".

Dominic- "I have been in the carpentry industry now for 14 years and am still loving it. My main experience rests in deck construction and design, as well as fences, garages, and woodworking. I also have been working the retail side of carpentry for the last 5 years. I love helping customers from start to finish on their project, whether it be a small repair or a full size project."

John- "I have a fairly diverse background consisting of retail, coal mining, truck driver, and doing various home renovations with my own company. I have been with Golden Spike for almost 7 years now and genuinely enjoy the people I work with and the customers we serve. I look forward to see what the New Year brings."

Roman- "I'm in my fifth year now with the Golden Spike crew. My background includes sales, framing, finish carpentry, and most things wood related. I enjoy working with the group we have, as we all have a good sense of humor and are like minded in serving our customer base."

Trish- "I have worked almost two years spending a couple days at our other location and a few days here. I do a variety of jobs, from accounts payable and receiving, to answering the phones, selling materials to customers, and trying to keep the guys in line."
