Sexton Group Builds Beds with Sleep in Heavenly Peace
Our Sexton Group team members in Winnipeg recently joined forces with other Sexton Family of Companies employees through our designated community outreach committee, TLC (Touching Lives Across Communities) to build beds for Children in need. This unique opportunity brought together team members from different business units to support a meaningful cause from all different functions to come together for a good cause. The initiative would not be possible without the hard work of Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a dedicated group of volunteers who build, assemble, and deliver beds to children and families who otherwise wouldn't have a bed to sleep in. Across Canada, many boys and girls go without a proper bed—sleeping instead on couches, blankets, or even the floor. This lack of proper sleep accommodation can have a wide range of negative impacts, including impaired cognitive function, weakened immune systems, reduced social interaction, and stunted development. These effects can leave lasting marks that extend well beyond adolescence.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace recognizes the vital importance of a safe, comfortable, and secure place to sleep. Their mission is to provide this foundation for as many children as possible, knowing that a good night's sleep lays the groundwork for a healthier, more successful daily life and that every child should be afforded this opportunity.
It was a rewarding and memorable day for our team—one that won't be forgotten. Big shout out to the team members who represented Sexton Group (Krista, JC, Sean, Stephanie, Sheana) as well as all those who participate on the TLC Committee for driving this initiative forward.

The Silica Control Tool (SCT) is a user-friendly online risk assessment tool that helps protect workers from the dangers of airborne crystalline silica exposure. Originally developed in British Columbia by the BC Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA), the SCT was introduced in Ontario at the end of 2023 through a collaboration between the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers (OHCOW), the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS).
