July: Federal rebate now available for medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles

The Government of Canada announced a $547.5 million funding program for the Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicles (iMHZEV).


August: Residential building permits bounce back June: StatsCan

The total value of building permits rose 6.9 per cent to $10.3 billion in June. Seven provinces contributed to the gain, led by Ontario, which jumped 22.7 per cent. Construction intentions in the residential sector were up 9.1 per cent.

November: Small business confidence reaches one of its lowest levels ever: CFIB

Small business confidence took a dip in the lead-up to the holiday shopping season and looking beyond it, according to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). The 12-month index level is the lowest recorded since 2009, outside of the 2008/2009 and 2020 recessions.


December: Naloxone kits to be required in Ontario

Employers in Ontario will need to provide Naloxone kits in workplaces considered to be at high risk for opioid overdoses as of June 1.
