HomeStars has released its fifth annual Reno Report based on a national survey of Canadian homeowners who have renovated in the past 12 months. The report examines cost, sustainable renovations and neighbour disputes over renovations.


Nova Scotia seeking input to improve workers’ compensation system

Nova Scotia is seeking input from Nova Scotians on improving the workers’ compensation system and preventing harassment in the workplace. The compensation system was last reviewed in 2002. The Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration is overseeing the review of the system, alongside an eight-member review committee that includes employer and employee representatives.


Ontario strengthening occupational illness protection

Ontario is creating Canada's first-ever Occupational Exposure Registry to "track harmful exposure levels, help diagnose workplace disease faster, improve worker compensation and reduce cost to the healthcare system." Expected in 2025, the registry will help address 41 recommendations resulting in the province'e review of the occupational illness landscape.
