Government of Canada launches Union-Led Advisory Table

The Government of Canada has launched a Union-Led Advisory Table that will include 15 board members from across sectors, and will allow these members to advise the Government on the pressing issues workers are facing today.


Apprenticeship registration surpasses pre-COVID-19 levels, marks highest since 2014

The number of new registrations in 2022 surpassed pre-COVID-19-pandemic registration levels and marks the highest number of new registrations since 2014. In 2022, 81,141 Canadians registered in an apprenticeship program, an increase of 11.6 per cent from 2021.


Ontario to do away with mandatory coroner's inquests on construction site deaths

Ontario intends to do away with mandatory coroner's inquests for workers who died on construction sites. Instead, the province will conduct an annual review of construction site deaths in an effort to alleviate pressure on overloaded coroners and to give answers to families sooner.
