All Canadian Building Products acquired by ABC Supply

ABC Supply Co., Inc. has acquired the assets of All Canadian Building Products in Surrey, B.C.. This acquisition marks its eighth company location in British Columbia and the second in Surrey. The acquired All Canadian Building Products (12921 84 Ave., Surrey, British Columbia) has been a trusted partner to area contractors since its establishment in 2004 by owner Kulwaren “Kal” Johal.


New first aid requirements coming this year from WorkSafe BC

A backgrounder published by WorkSafeBC outlines changes to employers' responsibilities for providing first aid and emergency assistance that will come into effect Nov. 1, 2024. The changes will occur as part of amendments to B.C.'s Occupational Health and Safety Regulation Schedule 3-A passed in April 2023.


Ottawa eyeing PFAS bans

According to a government of Canada website, the ministry of Environment and Climate Change is considering adding a group of chemicals known as PFAS to its list of toxic substances. This would allow the government to restrict, control or ban the use, transport, disposal, storage and research of the substance. Some older PFAS that were largely already out of use have already been added to the list.


February home prices 19% higher than a year ago - CREA

Canadian home prices as measured by the seasonally adjusted Aggregate Composite MLS® Home Price Index (HPI) were flat on a month-over-month basis in February 2024, ending a streak of five declines that began last fall, according to the latest data from the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA).
