Dewalt has announced the recipients of its 2024 Dewalt Trades Scholarship. This year, the program awarded $200,000 in scholarships to 40 students across the United States and Canada to support trades education in fields ranging from electrical to carpentry. The annual scholarship program is part of Dewalt’s “Grow The Trades” initiative, a $30 million commitment over five years to close the skilled trades gap.

The construction industry is responsible for a large amount of the worlds green house gas (GHG) emissions. According to Statistics Canada, between 1990 and 2022, Canada’s GHG emissions increased by 16.5 per cent. If Canada is trying to go net-zero by 2050, this means a lot of work need to be done on behalf of the contractor and developer industry to become more sustainable.
