Originally launched as a pilot in late 2021, Procore Construction Network (PCN) is a free online business directory dedicated to the construction industry, connecting general contractors, specialty contractors, owners, architects, engineers, suppliers and vendors. In 2024, Procore expanded the network into Canada, with the rollout to English Canada currently in progress, and French Canada planned for later this year.

The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) launched the Frequent Builder framework to accelerate the construction of affordable and rental homes by expediting the application process for established housing providers. The new framework will target experienced housing providers who access funding through the largest National Housing Strategy (NHS) programs, the Affordable Housing Fund (AHF) and the Apartment Construction Loan Program.

Businesses across Atlantic Canada are being vastly overcharged in property taxes compared with their residential counterparts, finds a new report from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). The report comes as over seven in 10 small businesses across the region claim property taxes are the biggest municipal issue currently impacting their business. Furthermore, with five in 10 businesses citing surging rental prices as a contributor to the cost of doing business, small businesses are finding it increasingly difficult to absorb increased tax rates.

In 2015, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission released its Final Report, which recommended 94 Calls to Action for the Canadian government to consider. All businesses and organizations in Canada have a responsibility to Call to Action #92, which advises corporate Canada to adopt the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a reconciliation framework.
