Voting under way on Quebec residential construction labour contract

The APCHQ is conducting voting across the province to inform negotiations on a new labour contract that will be in effect until 2029.


Permits continue downward slide across the country in February

In February, the total value of building permits issued in Canada increased by $371.3 million (+2.9%) to $13.1 billion. Gains in construction intentions were led by British Columbia's non-residential sector.


90-day tariff pause

On Wednesday, U.S. president Donald Trump abruptly announced a 90-day pause in implementing the tariffs on goods entering the U.S. from almost all countries around the world. Markets rebounded on the news, but have continued to slide since. Canada's situation remained unchanged from what it was after the April 2 "Liberation Day" announcement.
