Advanced modular housing manufacturing planned for Toronto

A new enterprise is being launched to help address Canada's housing crisis by transforming how homes are built. Stelumar Advanced Manufacturing (SAMI), founded by Peter Gilgan, is a technology company that will harness automation, robotics and AI to create modular housing solutions on a large scale.


Utility Expo registration open

The countdown for North America’s largest utility industry event has begun for utility and construction professionals.  Registration for The Utility Expo 2025 is now open.


Permits slump through June

In June, the total value of building permits issued in Canada decreased by $1.2 billion (nine percent) to $12 billion. Ontario's institutional component (-$1.4 billion) led the decline in construction intentions in June, after driving the growth in May.
