Several key members of Canada's emerging plant-based food industry recently announced the formation of Plant-Based Foods of Canada.


Millions of chickens drown in Florence floodwaters

Catastrophic flooding caused by Hurricane Florence in the southeastern United States has killed nearly two million chickens, collapsed the walls of at least two hog manure pits, and made stretches of major roads impassable.


CFC creates a young farmers program

The goal of Chicken Farmers of Canada's Young Farmers Program is to bring together young farmers from across the country to learn about how the Canadian chicken industry works, and to share their experiences and knowledge, as well as to identify new leaders in the industry.

From the editor: Promoting chicken in the north

The Chicken Farmers of Ontario’s Artisanal Chicken Program is in its third year. The first of its kind initiative allows growers to produce between 600 and 3,000 birds without buying quota. The program has proven to be a natural fit for producers with mixed farming operations looking to further diversify their income.
