Interview with CFC’s Michael Laliberté

Last year was another tumultuous one for Canada’s poultry industry. From avian influenza to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, 2022 presented producers with serious challenges. However, there was plenty to be optimistic about as well, including progress on the sustainability and trade mitigation fronts. In this three-part year in review series, we speak with leaders from the chicken, egg and turkey sectors about the biggest stories from the past year. First up, Canadian Poultry editor Brett Ruffell talks Michael Laliberté, executive director of Chicken Farmers of Canada.
