Using an in floor hydronic heating system has many benefits. Even heat distribution, consistently warms the barn closer to the ground where the chickens are. Hydronic heat also has no energy loss through ducts or irregular air flow, which in turn is more energy efficient and economical to operate. Hydronic systems can be used with a variety of boilers and is a good investment for farmers!
DATE: SEPTEMBER 26, 11 am EST Is biosecurity of broiler barns sufficient to face emerging infectious disease challenges? Speaker: Dr. Jean-Pierre Vaillancourt, University of Montreal
With Canada’s chicken industry continuing to phase out antibiotics, it’s more important than ever that producers practice good biosecurity to protect the health of their flocks. The industry’s recent battle with avian influenza further underscores the importance of this critical aspect of barn management.
