Independent organic bar processor invests in weight management and x-ray detection

Hornby Organic makes products for health- and earth-conscious customers. The company is expanding from serving local markets on Vancouver Island to a nation-wide roll-out.

They turned to METTLER TOLEDO and sales/service agent Shawpak Systems to ensure the highest quality and safety-first though a progressive weight management and product inspection system.

The model C31 High Speed checkweigher can handle up to 50 recipes and offers significant savings in reducing product giveaway and in fine tuning tolerances to 1 to 2 grams per bar.

The X-Ray system adds secure detection for materials beyond metal such as stones and hard plastics. Installation and training were accomplished in 2 days. In the video, company co-owner Irah Vet shows how easy the machine is to program and run with its "intuitive touch screen and significant data management options."

Irah demonstrates how the Safeline X-Ray system detects a 4 mm glass sample through "4 different inspection tools."
