Ikea removing plastic bags, straws, single-use plastics by 2020

In the latest ban involving plastic straws, Swedish home furniture supplier Ikea has pledged to remove all plastic bags, straws and other single-use plastics products its stores globally, and from customer and employee restaurants in stores by 2020.


Nordson merges its BKG pelletizer and melt delivery equipment businesses

The combined business entity, called Nordson BKG GmbH, will be headquartered in a newly expanded facility in Münster, Germany.


Pretium to expand Illinois and Texas PET bottle plants

The Texas plant will be expanded by 52,000 square feet, while Pretium is also nearing completion of a 54,000-square-foot expansion for its Aurora, Illinois plant to provide additional manufacturing and warehousing space.


Magna partners with Michigan startup to retrofit self-driving shuttles

Aurora, Ont.-based Magna will retrofit May Mobility's low-speed self-driving electric transit vehicles with custom doors, a panoramic moon roof, drive-by-wire technology, and sensor integration.
