Ontario College of Trades replaced by Skilled Trades Ontario

The Ontario government has passed Bill 288, which replaces the Ontario College of Trades with a new Crown agency called Skilled Trades Ontario. The new agency is designed to consolidate training and certification of apprentices and certified tradespeople under one organization while leaving enforcement of compulsory trades to the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development.
