Bridging the gap with IP Audio: Elevate your offering to the next level.

Axis Communications' Network Audio and video solutions are an all-in-one solution that leverage the power of an open platform that allow for applications to be installed directly to our devices, which we refer to as an ACAP. AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP) is an open application platform that enables members of Axis Application Development Partner (ADP) Program to develop applications that can be downloaded and installed on Axis network cameras and video encoders. ACAPs help to reduce storage and network consumption, reduce system cost and complexity, simplify the deployment and tuning of projects and assist in designing truly scalable systems.

By leveraging audio and video analytics, a security system can detect unusual movement and sound. These sounds can be the first sign of an escalating situation and can be used when monitoring for safety and security. Acoustic pattern recognition provides notification of events by constantly analyzing the sound at the location, leading to enhanced awareness of incidents and earlier intervention through effective communication and deployment of resources. But, the capabilities of AXIS Network Audio and video do not stop here.

Let's take a look at some examples of audio analytics that have been used:

  • Aggression and gunshot detection
    • Can detect the sounds of objects breaking, gunshot and escalations in tone of voice and can trigger alerts to the monitoring station to deploy resources.
  • Loitering guard
    • Using radar and camera technologies, when a person is detected loitering for a longer than normal period of time, will trigger a notification to be played.
  • Background music
    • Raise or lower the volume of music playing within an area of a store or restaurant depending on the level of activity within the area
  • Queue monitor
    • Tracks how many people are standing in a predefined area (e.g. a queue) and the level of activity within that area. It also triggers real-time push alerts if the queue is too long, sounding a notification to alert more staff to tend to the line.
