University of Moncton trying to block threatening emails

The University of Moncton says it is “working non-stop” to block malicious emails targeting a female student being sent to students and staff, although a ninth did make it through to thousands of addresses on its system.


Bomb threats trigger Concordia buildings evacuations

“Montreal police are investigating after a letter was sent to media outlets threatening to set off bombs targeting Muslim students in at least three Concordia University buildings,” reported the Montreal Gazette last week.


CBC: Bank fined $1.15M for violating anti-money laundering reporting rules was Manulife

According to a CBC article, “the head of Canada’s financial crime watchdog agency is second-guessing his decision last year to withhold the name of a bank — which CBC Investigates has identified as Manulife Bank of Canada — fined $1.15 million for not reporting hundreds of transactions it was obligated to report under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act.”
