The Ontario government says it has launched an operation intended to beef up security along the border with the United States. In a news release, Premier Doug Ford says Operation Deterrence will "crack down on illegal border crossings and illegal guns and drugs."

Grant Lecky, co-founder of the Security Partners’ Forum, is a member of the ISO Working Group that developed the ISO 22336: 2024, Organizational resilience — Guidelines for resilience policy and strategy. Lecky spoke to Canadian Security recently about the development of the standard and how it might affect security and risk professionals going forward.

In 2024, some of Canadian Security's most popular stories focused on our awards programs (Top 10 Under 40, Security Director of the Year and Canadian Security Honours), while others looked at topical issues like the role of AI in security and how to make pen-testing more effective. We also saw a reader focus on major event planning, such as Pride parades and most recently, Taylor Swift's concert series in Toronto.
