Surrey, B.C., offers rewards for extortion tips, citing dozens of threats, shootings

Mayor Brenda Locke announced on Monday a $250,000 reward fund for information leading to convictions in the extortion cases, but said the federal and provincial governments must also step up to help fight the crimes.


ASIS announces Awards of Excellence recipients for 2025

ASIS International has announced the 2025 recipients of its Awards of Excellence. The annual awards recognize the accomplishments of ASIS members worldwide, according to the association.

National Security Officer Appreciation Week is traditionally observed during the third week of September. The appreciation week was created 10 years ago to recognize the important contributions of security professionals and raise awareness of career opportunities in the industry.
