A constructed wetland is being built on the Illinois Central College East Peoria campus to reduce nitrate runoff from farmland on campus. ICC could be the first known college to have all three: a demonstration farm, bioreactor and wetland, on the same drainage system.

A 2016 survey of present and past participants showed the Iowa Drainage School has helped participants increase the scope of their work either with increase in clients, service area, hiring of employees, and/or with the purchase of additional equipment. The three-day school is back again and will be held from Aug. 20 to 22 at the Borlaug Learning Center in Nashua, IA.
