Farmers continue to invest in tile despite tough finances

Between 2012 and 2017, tiled acres increased by 77 percent in the 48 states with tiling, according to the 2017 Census of Agriculture. The investment in tile comes at a time when commodity prices are low, trade is uncertain, and the weather is unpredictable.


How farm drains become fish habitat

A group of researchers with the Fish and Fish Habitat Protection Program are classifying fish found in farm drains in southwestern Ontario. A farm drain is considered a fish habitat and a small drain may support schools of brook trout, while a large drain may have a few suckers.


Australian company will produce new phosphorus absorption product

Australian environmental company Phoslock Environmental Technologies signed an agreement to manufacture, sell and distribute a reusable phosphorus absorption product developed by an international university.
