EPA chief announces $10.6 million in grants to Great Lakes restoration projects

The Environmental Protection Agency announced $10.6 million in grants awarded to various Great Lakes restoration projects, including projects that reduce the causes and extent of harmful algal blooms.

At a recent Agricultural Drainage and the Environment Conference in Regina, SK, discussion arose about accommodating drainage alongside the province’s goals to preserve wetlands. Currently drainage projects need to be evaluated on environmental impact before approval.
