Delbert “Del” O’Brien has worn a lot of hats over his career – he’s been a farm owner, a lawyer and has even been involved in the aviation business. Notably, O’Brien has never worked as a drainage contractor – but his recent induction into the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame is all about his decades of contribution to the world of Ontario drainage. For years, O’Brien served as the province’s “drainage referee,” bridging the gap between urban lawmakers and rural farmers looking for solutions.
