When new automation is up and running like it should, break out the champagne. But getting there isn’t half the fun. Often, it’s a longer-than-expected trek from design through commissioning, full of potential pitfalls, many beyond your control. There is a better way. Festo is simplifying and de-risking automation projects with a growing portfolio of downloadable software, online configurators and compatible components that streamline the entire development process. Every step is faster, simpler and seamless, with outcomes worth celebrating.

1. Simple and fast design, configuration and procurement

The Handling Guide Online (HGO) has become a popular tool for designing optimized Festo handling systems. By just entering a few project specs, you can generate an application-adapted single-axis or 2D/3D gantry and download its CAD document on the spot, no charge. An engineering process that usually takes days is compressed into minutes. Festo will call with a no-obligation quote. Your Festo axis or gantry comes pre-assembled and pre-tested with all user documentation, ready to install. Procurement through the HGO process cuts assembly and delivery times from two months or more to just a few weeks.

When ordering the Festo Motion Control Package with your HGO-designed Festo gantry, you get a complete, optimized package to make it run: servo drives with safety circuit, power supply, gateway to the fieldbus of your choice and circuit protection; all prewired in a UL control cabinet and certified to work on delivery with just a few simple connections. Integration with major PLC brands is simplified; cartesian motion for up to six axes can be configured quickly with function blocks or AOIs. It couldn’t be simpler, as this video explains
