The Difference Between Coiled Spring Pins and Slotted Spring Pins

Spring Pins, often referred to as Tension Pins or Roll Pins, are self-retaining fasteners used to secure two or more parts of an assembly together. Once installed, Spring Pins “spring back” and apply a continuous force onto the sides of the hole wall. This flexibility allows Spring Pins to accommodate wider hole tolerances than rigid Solid Pins and reduces manufacturing costs of the component. There are two types of Spring Pins: Coiled Spring Pins and Slotted Spring Pins. Learn the differences between the two and discover why the Coiled Spring Pin is the superior choice - especially in dynamic applications.
