Three provinces sign MOU on development of small modular reactors

On Dec. 1, Ontario premier Doug Ford, New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs and Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe released a joint statement on an agreement they formed to together develop small modular reactors.


RECALL: Mastercraft Construction Heater poses fire hazard

Health Canada has recalled Mastercraft’s Construction Heater, 4800W, due to risk of overheating, which can pose a burn and fire hazard. As of Nov. 8, 2019, Canadian Tire has received nine reports of the product overheating, with two incidents of the product catching fire and damaging property. Luckily, no injuries have been reported.


Minister Yurek revokes approval for Nation Rise Wind Farm

Jeff Yurek, Ontario’s Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks, recently issued a decision revoking the Renewable Energy Approval (REA) for the Nation Rise Wind Farm project. The 29-turbine wind farm had been under construction in North Stormont, Ont. since May 2019.
