Electricity currently supports 20% of Canada’s energy needs, noted John Gorman, president & CEO of the Canadian Nuclear Association. “If we’re trying to shift away from other fuels, we’ll need to build 19 more Bruce Power stations [approx. 121,600 MW], or 20,000 wind turbines to make up this difference.”
