GM Canada announced it will start production at Canada’s first full-scale electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Ingersoll, Ont. Following re-tooling, production of BrightDrop’s electric delivery vans will begin at CAMI Assembly in December 2022. BrightDrop is a new business from General Motors whose “portfolio of products, software, and services are designed to decarbonize last-mile deliveries and reduce congestion for a smarter, more sustainable future”.

Test the safety and performance of a type 1, level 1 or level 2 EVSEs with the Fluke FEV100. This test adapter simulates the presence of an electrical vehicle, allowing you to conduct tests in combination with appropriate test instruments such as a digital multimeter or oscilloscope. Use the FEV100 to verify an EVSE is working properly after install and during periodic maintenance or troubleshoot an EVSE that is not delivering the appropriate charge.

Deere & Company has acquired majority ownership in Kreisel Electric Inc., a battery technology provider based in Austria. “Kreisel’s battery technology can be applied across the broad portfolio of Deere products [...]” said Pierre Guyot, John Deere Power Systems. John Deere sees demand growing for batteries as a sole- or hybrid-propulsion system for off-highway vehicles.

PowerON Energy Solutions (a subsidiary of Ontario Power Generation) has partnered with the Toronto Transit Commission to design, build, co-invest, and operate the charging and related electrical infrastructure that supports the TTC’s electrification, including its fleet and facilities.

A pilot project by BluWave-ai and Hydro Ottawa will use artificial intelligence to manage electric vehicle charging during peak demand periods with the aim of saving customers money while extending the life of electricity infrastructure. The project is supported by the Ontario Energy Board and the province’s Independent Electricity System Operator.

Under a new global framework agreement, ABB E-mobility will supply its portfolio of AC and DC charging stations for electric vehicles to Shell, which is targeting the operation of over 500,000 charge points globally by 2025, and 2.5 million by 2030, either at residential, commercial or Shell retail sites.
