Statistics Canada reports the total value of building permits in Canada declined 1.5% in June to $11.9 billion, mainly due to the non-residential sector, which dropped 10.4% to $3.7 billion, after posting its second-highest monthly value. While workers assume they are the most responsible for safety in the workplace, there is a feeling that organizations can be doing a better job at creating a safe work environment. According to an Electrical Safety Survey by Fluke, this sentiment about who is most responsible has remained the same over the past three years. Also, while respondents feel a strong safety culture is important, only 37% believe their company has one.

As part of its North American growth strategy and customer service focus, IPEX says it is investing in a major expansion that impacts three of its pipe extrusion facilities. “This will allow IPEX to increase production capacity for our pipe business to ensure high fill rates and excellent service both in the U.S. and Canada [...]” said Alex Mestres, IPEX’s CEO. “These investments will also add enough capacity to deliver a number of groundbreaking new products we now have in the pipeline and ready to launch.”
